Sergeant Allais was selected the 2018 Philip Parker Public Service Award for Excellence winner because as Sheriff Chuck Atkins of Clark County stated in his nomination letter Sergeant Allais has definitely shown untiring effort in promoting, being dedicated to, and serving our community with not only integrity but also humility! This is what Sheriff Atkins wrote about Sergeant Allais;
"Sergeant Kevin Allais is currently Outreach Sergeant for the Clark County Sheriff's Office, and works with the community in many formats. He is closely tied to the SALT program (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) and organizes and orchestrates events throughout the year to serve our elderly community. These events are structured around giving our seniors community the information and resources needed to lead a happy life in their golden years. Sergeant Allais also is deeply involved in a summer BBQ and winter spaghetti dinner where the seniors are served by Law Enforcement Officers.
Sergeant Allais is our contact with the Neighborhood Associations and he works closely with leadership. He is also our representative to the Behind the Badge Foundation. This is a national movement to support the families of Law Enforcement Officers who are killed in the line of duty. This is a huge demand on his time and his emotional well-being. Sergeant Allais is recognized as the go-to man anywhere in the State of Washington when there is a line of duty death. He has an amazing ability to work closely with the family and meet their every need. I have personally seen Sergeant Allais in action, and there isn't anyone that I could imagine doing a better job!
Sergeant Allais is also the coordinator of the Clark County Sheriff's Office "Santa's Posse." This is a 20+ year program that provides food and gifts to families in need at Christmas time. This program grew from a few dozen families receiving food and gifts from deputies to become a 501 c3 non-profit that this past year helped over 1,000 families.
it goes without saying that Sergeant Allais couldn't do this all by himself and he has many volunteers throughout the community and throughout the Sheriff's Office. Sergeant Allais is a proven motivator and leader and guides us all through the process. I admire him and I am pleased to call him Friend."
